How It Works

This tool estimates your received signal quality using standard satellite link budget calculations:

EIRP — Estimated from satellite beam center (typical Ku-band: 48-52 dBW for MENA)
Path loss — Free-space loss at 12 GHz: 205-206 dB depending on slant range
Dish gain — G = 10*log10(efficiency * (pi*D/lambda)^2), efficiency = 0.6
C/N threshold — DVB-S2 QPSK 3/4 needs ~6.5 dB; 8PSK 3/4 needs ~10 dB
